Manchester Blossom Map 2024

Client: National Trust Manchester

I was re-commissioned by National Trust Manchester to extend the design of the folding Manchester Blossom map I first designed for the 2023 ‘Festival of Blossom’ and incorporate the updated design in the Manchester Blossom Map 2024. The brief for the 2024 folding map was to ‘zoom out’ the existing map to include more areas outside Manchester city centre like RHS Bridgewater and Waterside Arts and to highlight blossom hot spot accessibility by encouraging use of public transport.

As part of the design extension the front cover and flip side of the map were also updated.

I was also commissioned to design 4 large scale and A1 posters and two tram coving posters to be used at the St Peter’s Square Tram Stop Blossom Takeover. These posters were were used to advertise the Festival of Blossom events taking place.

As part of the social media and online campaign, I also designed a web banner and my illustrations were used as Instagram promotions.

It was lovely to be recommissioned by National Trust Manchester and work with the team there to extend the map and present Manchester’s Festival of Blossom.

Bek did an outstanding job designing the 2024 Manchester Bloomtown map.

She always delivered work on time and responded very well to feedback. She came up with some very smart, creative solutions to some very challenging specifications.

I would highly recommend Bek’s work as an illustrator, designer, and cartographer, and would not hesitate to work with her again.
